Privacy policy
Axon is a desktop browser from UnSync Software. This policy explains what Axon stores and transmits when you browse the public web or use the UnSync Network.
- Your encrypted identity and preferences are stored on your device.
- Optional product analytics are off by default.
- Analytics never include browsing history, URLs, searches, handles, public keys, media names, or page content.
- Websites, UnSync services, and peers receive the connection information needed to provide the features you request.
Data stored on your device
Axon stores your identity handle and public key, encrypted private identity key, device-unlock configuration, privacy preferences, bookmarks, browsing history, browser session data, caches, and downloaded WebTorrent pieces locally. Your recovery passphrase is used to decrypt your identity but is not saved.
Connections you request
Public websites receive the ordinary information involved in a web connection, including network address, request data, and browser characteristics. UnSync services receive information needed to resolve and retrieve an UnSync address. WebTorrent peers can observe your network address and the torrent swarm in which you participate.
Optional analytics
If you opt in, Axon may send the app version, operating-system family, calendar day, and aggregate feature counts. Axon creates no persistent analytics identifier. Turning analytics off removes counts that have not yet been sent.
Pre-release analytics are sent to UnSync’s first-party collector, merged into daily totals, and retained for 90 days. The receiving infrastructure necessarily observes ordinary connection metadata such as the source network address.
Sharing and sale
UnSync Software does not sell personal information. Information is disclosed only to providers needed for a feature you request, to peers when you choose peer-to-peer delivery, or when legally required.
Your controls
You can enable or disable analytics from Axon’s Privacy & data menu, lock Axon to remove the decrypted identity key from memory, and remove local Axon data from your device.
